It seems like only yesterday when I wrote my last President’s message and talked about the upheaval of 2020 and our chapter’s successful transition into a new way of operating. At that time, we thought the end of the Corona virus was near. Fast forward to the end of 2021, and we are dealing with new COVID strains and the world continues to double down on working, managing and sharing remotely.
While the constant upheaval has been a challenge, Change Managers take these issues in stride and in many ways COVID has been a blessing for ACMP Florida. To quote Ted Lasso, "I feel like we fell out of the lucky tree and hit every branch on the way down." Being forced to go fully remote has caused the Board to remain laser focused on our vision to "grow and connect the organizational change management community through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional development opportunities" by using whatever delivery method is most accessible to you.
Using our vision statement and the annual member survey as our guideposts, the chapter has brought you 16 events over the course of 2021, including our popular, come-as-you-are Coffee Hours and our new “First Thursdays” series. The goal of these opportunities is to help you to grow both your professional network and your change skills and the Board will continue to deliver these sessions to you over the course of the next year. In addition, the chapter is excited to announce that AMCP Florida will be launching its own chapter Connect site early in the New Year. If you haven’t checked out ACMP Connect yet, you can join the conversation at https://connect.acmpglobal.org/home and get a taste of the chapter sites at https://connect.acmpglobal.org/communities/geo. Stay tuned for more information about the Florida Connect site as we get closer to launch.
As we close out the year, this also brings my time as chapter President to a close. I have been a part of the ACMP Florida leadership team for the last 5 ½ years and in that time we have changed from an emerging chapter to a fully functional chapter that continues to grow, mature and evolve. I am so proud of what the team has accomplished and look forward to where our Board takes us next. Please join me in supporting them as they take up the mission “to lead the way change works in Florida."
Sincerely,
Julie Anne Leggett, PMP®, CCMP™, Prosci®
President, ACMP Florida
