Join ACMP Florida's First Thursdays meeting this month for a look at Agile Friendly Leadership and Change Practices for Everyone.
Agile and Scrum are popular today. Yet, neither tells you exactly how to navigate change. Sure, as a manifesto and framework, respectively, they provide minimal guidelines and structure, yet they remain intentionally vague. So how can people, teams of people, and organizations of people address the existing social constructs within complex structures such as teams and organizations that often have been built over the years to control and resist change? Changing the culture of change within an organization from large and plan heavy to small and nimble change starts with shifting management behaviors. This means understanding how to build intrinsic motivation, empowering delegated decision-making at the point of delivery, and enabling bottom-up change intelligence. It also means making co-creation of change a priority. Join ACMP Florida and our speaker, Ken Rickard, in this highly interactive session as we experience modern leadership and change practices that will help you and your organization build the resilient change muscle needed to succeed with change agility.
About the Speaker
Ken Rickard started his professional career as a mainframe operator, loading reel to reel tapes for data backups. He eventually became a data and analytics developer, architect, and manager over the first decade of his career. While stumbling through the traditions of ladder-climbing and top-down corporate change, he found the frustration that would ignite the passion that would fuel the next decade of his career. While his development days are behind him, he now spends his time in the pursuit of finding better ways to invite change into teams and organizations. Ken now shares his experiences through facilitating Organizational Change and Management courses.
